Junior Research Fellow and Senior Research Fellow

Applications are invited for 4 JRF/ SRF positions at Advanced Instrumentation Research Facility (AIRF) under the PURSE program. The work would involve handling of any of the following instruments at AIRF:
Scanning Electron Microscope with experience in TEM and SEM sample preparation; X-ray Diffractometer (XRD) for protein crystallography and macromolecules and handling of XRD protein crystallization Unit; Confocal microscope and Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR) Spectrometer.
The scheduled date for interview for these 4 positions on 9th April, 2010 at 3 pm at AIRF Committee Room. The positions are temporary and available till the end of the project.
Qualifications for these temporary positions are as follows:
1. M. Sc./ B. Tech. in any discipline of science for JRF and M. Sc./ B. Tech. in any discipline of science with two years research experience for SRF.
2. Working/ handling/ research experience in advanced sophisticated instruments like Scanning Electron Microscope with experience in TEM and SEM sample preparation; X-ray Diffractometer (XRD) for protein crystallography and macromolecules and handling of XRD protein crystallization Unit; Confocal microscope and Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR) Spectrometer.
3. Knowledge of Imaging/ physical Chemistry/ protein crystallography is desirable.
Salary: For JRF Rs. 12000/- + HRA as permissible; for SRF Rs. 14000/- + HRA as permissible.

Junior Research Fellow in Jawaharlal Nehru University

Applications are invited for a post of 2 JRF in the DST funded project entitled Scale up and optimization of a mammalian cell culture system for the over expression of therapeutic monoclonal antibodies with specific reference to RituximabThe work will principally involve molecular cloning, fermentation and cell culture work. The positions are temporary and available until December 2012 (till the end of the project).
Qualifications for JRF/SRF: M.Sc./ B.Tech/M.Tech in Biotechnology / Biochemistry /Biophysics/Life Sciences with some knowledge in Biochemical Engineering, fermentation Technology and cell biology. (Desirable): 2 years of working experience with fermentation and/or cell culture.

Junior Research Fellow in Jawaharlal Nehru University

Applications are invited for a post of JRF in the DBT funded project under “Innovative Young Biotechnologist Award 2008” titled “Characterization of Novel Mechanism of drug resistance mediated by EFG1, a morphogenic regulator in Candida albicans, a pathogenic yeast.” The work would primarily involve working on drug resistance and its molecular mechanisms in pathogenic yeast, Candida.
The scheduled date for interview for these 4 positions on 9th April, 2010 at 3 pm at AIRF Committee Room.
The position is temporary and available until August, 2012 (till the end of the project).
Qualifications for JRF/SRF: M.Sc./ B.Tech in Biotechnology/ Biochemistry /Biophysics/ Life Sciences/ Microbiology/ any stream of biological sciences. 
(Desirable): Working experience with pathogenic yeasts.

Salary: As per DBT norms.
