Scientist II, Structural Biology USA, California, Palo Alto

We are seeking a highly motivated structural biologist to participate in projects related to protein and metabolic engineering.

We are looking for an exceptional candidate with experience in aspects of structure determination using x-ray crystallography from crystallization, multiple wavelength phasing, through refinement. In addition the successful candidate will have the ability to communicate these results and their significance in oral and written form to members of multiple disciplinary project teams. The successful candidate is expected work as an independent scientist as a member of a project team focused on developing products that offer value added solutions to critical opportunities in industrial biotechnology. The position is ideally suited for the individual interested in relating structure to function to obtain commercial products.

You are degree qualified with the following:
  • PhD with research focused on structure determination with at least two years additional postdoctoral experience.
  • Experience in utilizing bioinformatics and computer modeling to relate structure to function is also highly desirable.
  • Ability to excel in a collaborative environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and the desire to work within a multidisciplinary team are also required.
  • The successful candidate must be motivated, creative, have strong problem solving and critical thinking skills, and be capable of working independently or in a collaborative setting.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills are highly desirable
We are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
