Junior Research Fellow and Senior Research Fellow

Applications are invited for 4 JRF/ SRF positions at Advanced Instrumentation Research Facility (AIRF) under the PURSE program. The work would involve handling of any of the following instruments at AIRF:
Scanning Electron Microscope with experience in TEM and SEM sample preparation; X-ray Diffractometer (XRD) for protein crystallography and macromolecules and handling of XRD protein crystallization Unit; Confocal microscope and Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR) Spectrometer.
The scheduled date for interview for these 4 positions on 9th April, 2010 at 3 pm at AIRF Committee Room. The positions are temporary and available till the end of the project.
Qualifications for these temporary positions are as follows:
1. M. Sc./ B. Tech. in any discipline of science for JRF and M. Sc./ B. Tech. in any discipline of science with two years research experience for SRF.
2. Working/ handling/ research experience in advanced sophisticated instruments like Scanning Electron Microscope with experience in TEM and SEM sample preparation; X-ray Diffractometer (XRD) for protein crystallography and macromolecules and handling of XRD protein crystallization Unit; Confocal microscope and Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR) Spectrometer.

Integrated Ph.D Programme in Indian Institute of Sience Education and Research

Students with a B. Sc/B.E/B.Tech/M.B.B.S degree from any recognized university/institute/ College can apply for the Integrated Ph. D programme in Biological, Chemical, Earth, Mathematical and Physical Sciences.  They need to secure a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent grades in their qualifying examinations. Those who are appearing in the final examination of their degree course can also apply; for them, the eligibility marks are 60% in aggregate, based on the marks obtained in the undergraduate examinations held so far.

Applications are invited from Indian nationals for one post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) to work on the CSIR research project entitled “Functional analysis of a late replication enforcing element in chromosome II of fission yeast.” Minimum qualifications: NET/GATE qualified with M. Sc./BE/B. Tech. (Life Science subjects) with specialization in Genetics, Biochemistry and Molecular Biology with 55% marks. IIT Bombay Research Fellowship Scheme

The awardees will be selected based on their academic record and an interview, followed by a written test (if necessary).
They will be expected to work on research projects for a minimum period of one year in different Departments/ Schools/ Centres/ Inter-disciplinary Programs based on their academic background and research interests.

Job Description: This position is responsible for the administration and maintenance of the adverse events and Drug Dictionaries. This includes, but not limited to, evaluation for accuracy of coding and re-coding of adverse events and other safety (medical history, disease state and indicators) using MedDRA terminology as well as methods to convert other medical terminologies to MedDRA and other bridging techniques including MedDRA versioning upgrades.
This position is also responsible for the administration and maintenance of the Company Drug Dictionary (CDD) and WHO-DRL dictionary within BRM. This includes, but not limited to, the evolution of the accuracy of the mapping of medication data to suspect products and comparators as well as concomitant drug information.
