Bioprocess Engineer

Responsibilities:
Serve as the technical expert for biotechnology process separations technologies. Primary emphasis is on supporting our technologies used in large scale manufacturing process. Act as the local technical contact for this key customer on critical projects.
Coordinate project related activities and communicate project status.
Possess a demonstrated ability to design experiments and troubleshoot operational issues. Critically examine/analyze data and model process behavior to characterize process performance.
Understand scaling issues, constraints and sizing techniques relating to all applications. Possess a current and high level of technical competency in our markets, applications and products. These include UF/DF, Sterile filtration, fluid clarification, chromatography and column packing, as well as virus filtration and final fill operations.
Conduct in-house/on-site training seminars for customers on different subjects.
Serve as key interface for Sales, R&D and Marketing Groups.
Requirements:
Degree in Chemical and/or Biomolecular Engineering with a minimum of 2 years experience in related field. Strong background and practical experience in purification of proteins & biomolecules
Several years experience in a large scale manufacturing environment
Knowledge of aseptic processing membrane and chromatography purification, process economics, and process validation.
Experience with process scale up with a clear understanding of scaling requirements and constraints in biopharmaceutical applications
Possess excellent data analysis and organizational skills. Experience in preparing project proposals, plans, schedules as well as detailed reports.
Well-developed verbal and written communication skills and ability to respond to customer needs in a timely fashion.
