Responsibilities:
Be responsible for performing microbiological testing on raw materials, intermediates and finished products in a timely manner
Carry out compositing function for raw material and finished product samples
Perform and support environmental monitoring program
Support sampling activities as required by the sampling plan
Carry out media preparation and maintain laboratory inventory level to support testing activities
Perform cleaning and sanitation of laboratory premises, equipment and glassware in accordance to Standard Operating Procedure
Organize calibration and performance check on equipment and ensure all laboratory documentation is maintained, recorded and reported accurately
Drive Lean / Sigma continuous improvement projects / initiatives within the department
Requirements:
Diploma in Microbiology / Biotechnology / Food Technology or equivalent discipline
Strong leadership with interpersonal skills and able to work independently and effectively, for senior position
Good analytical and problem solving skills
Able to perform shift work
Knowledge of food microbiology, cGMP and HACCP will be an added advantage
Able to work in a fast-paced laboratory environment, meet tight deadlines and multi-task
