The Indian Institute of Science is a premier research organization and graduate teaching institute that specializes in various aspects of Science and Engineering. The Division of Biological Sciences has research activities that span several disciplines: Biochemistry, Microbiology Cell Biology, Reproduction and Development, Genetics, Ecological Sciences as well as Molecular Biophysics and Structural Biology. As the Institute nears its centenary year, a state of the art facility for research in the biological sciences has been proposed. The Biological Sciences division invites applications from young Indian scientists at the Assistant Professor level in any area of research in the biological sciences to initiate new research programs. Candidates should be below 35 years of age with 2-5 years of post-doctoral research experience. Outstanding candidates with a flair for multidisciplinary approaches to address problems in modern biology and a commitment to post-graduate teaching are particularly encouraged. A generous start-up package would be provided to initiate new research activities.
