The Institute of Microbial Technology, a constituent establishment of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, Government of India, wishes to recruit 10 (Ten) Project Assistants (Level-II) & 3 (Three) Project Assistants (Level-I) on purely temporary basis to work in different R&D Projects in various areas of the biological sciences, such as Protein Science & Engineering, Infectious Diseases & Immunity, Microbial Physiology & Genetics, Biotransformations & Microbiology and Fermentative Science & Process Development. Apart from the candidate selected in any particular project, a panel will be made, which will be operative for a maximum period of one year from the date of interview or another interview is conducted by the Institute for recruitment of similar positions in future, whichever is earlier.
Essential Qualification for Project Assistant Level-II:-
Ist Class M.Sc. in any area of Modern Biology/ Life Sciences / Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biochemistry/Biophysics/Microbiology / Molecular Biology / Botany/ Zoology or Ist Class B.E/B.Tech. in Biochemical Engineering or Biotechnology (For Fermentative Science & Process Development only).
Essential Qualification for Project Assistant Level-I:-
Ist Class B.Sc. with specialization in any area of Modern Biology/Life Sciences/Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biochemistry /Biophysics/Microbiology / Molecular Biology
Desirable:- Practical research experience in the areas mentioned above.
Remuneration for Project Asstt. (L-II):- Rs.8000/- p.m. (fixed)
Remuneration for Project Asstt. (L-I):- Rs.7000/- p.m. (fixed)
Age Limit as on 07.03.2008 (on the date of walk-in-interview) :- Not exceeding 28 years (Relaxation to SC/ST/OBC/Physically Handicapped as per GOI rules).
The engagement as a Project Assistant in the projects is purely on temporary basis maximum for the period of duration of the project. However, appointment will initially be offered for a period of one year and will be extended yearly basis till the duration of the project depending on the satisfactory performance of the incumbent. The appointment can be terminated by either side with one month’s notice. Total duration of project assistantship in CSIR laboratories is maximum of 5 years. Therefore, if an incumbent switches between the projects, the appointment will terminate on the day he/she completes 5 years as a Project Assistant. Please note that it is not an IMTECH/CSIR appointment and will not confer any right of the incumbent to any claim implicit or explicit or any position.
